We are born unlimited; In everything – an unlimited ability to learn, an unlimited ability to mould ourselves into whatever we want to become, and an unlimited ability to heal. So why is it that we are limited – that we struggle to learn certain things, that we don’t reach our dreams, that we find ourselves with incurable conditions?
The answer lies in our conditioning – yup, all the stuff we were told by our parents and teachers and friends as we grew up and all the things we watched them do (and not do).
Have you ever told your child “Here is a plaster – it will make your cut all better” or “We’re going to the doctor now and he is going to make you better” or “Take your medicine, if you don’t take it you will never get better”? Every time you say these things or rush for the plasters or the doctor you are sending a very clear message to your child that they are limited – that their bodies are not capable of handling life’s little knocks, scrapes and colds.
Now please do not misunderstand me. Modern medicine is great – it has certainly saved many lives - and I am not advocating never taking your child to a doctor. What I am saying is that the more you can emphasise your child’s body’s ability to heal itself, the more they will be able to heal as they grow up and the less they will rely on things outside of themselves.
So instead of reaching for the box of Disney printed latex strips, why not use this as the important opportunity it is to do this: Say, “Wow, I see that you’ve cut your knee. Look how amazing your body is – it has already started bleeding to clean out the cut and if you watch it over the next few days you’ll see that it will create a scab to protect the new skin underneath and then will grow a whole new layer of skin there… isn’t that amaaaaazing! Your body can heal anything and it knows exactly how to do this without you even having to think about it. Wow! If I were you I’d say a big ‘thank you’ to my awesome body for looking after me so well!”
When they get sick tell them about the little white-blood cells that are like soldiers marching through their bodies gobbling up any germs; reinforce for them that their bodies know exactly what to do and that all they need to do is to rest, eat healthy food and drink enough water in order to support their bodies in doing what they do.
If they do need to use a plaster explain that the plaster is just there to stop blood getting all over the place and is not doing any healing – the body is doing that. If they do need to see a doctor, explain that the doctor is just there to give you support, that the medicine is really just making you more comfortable while your body heals itself.
Give your children the gift of having faith in their own bodies and in the unlimited potential that they were born with. And do this for yourself too.
If you don’t believe in your unlimited potential due to your own conditioning, give me a shout. I have some incredible processes for weeding out limiting beliefs and clearing them so that you can enjoy your birthright of unlimited living.
Be this change for your kids and watch them flourish!
